Prior Council Action:

April 15, 1993 - Council created the Austin Downtown Public Improvement District (PID); Council reauthorized the Austin Downtown PID on October 23, 1997, October 24, 2002, October 18, 2007, and October 11, 2012; May 23, 2019 - Council approved to set a public hearing to consider the expansion of the PID to include 601 West Second Street.

Additional Backup Information:

This action will expand the Austin Downtown Public Improvement District (PID) to add one property, Block 185 at 600 W. Cesar Chavez Street, Austin, TX 78701 (TCAD Property ID: 818210), also noted as 601 West 2nd Austin, TX 78701 at the request of the owner and add adjacent public right-of-way. The property to be added is contiguous to the current PID boundary.   Chapter 372 of the Texas Local Government Code requires that the governing body of the municipality hold a public hearing to consider the expansion. Notice of the hearing to consider the expansion was provided as required by law.

 

As required by the GWTP Master Development Agreement with the City, the property owner has requested to become part of the PID and pay applicable assessments for improvements to the area that is benefitted by the PID.   A map of the Austin Downtown PID designating expansion is Exhibit A.
