Alexandra Westermann, Retail Marketing Coordinator of AMLI and 2nd Street District, has submitted a street event application to close the 400 block of West 2nd Street for a fee-paid event. A fee-paid event is defined as any right-of-way event that is in a fixed or stationary location and requires the payment of a gate fee to access the public right-of-way (Austin City Code Section 14-8-1). The promoter will be charging $55.00 entry fee for General Admission and $95.00 for VIP.
All proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization, Austin Food and Wine Alliance, dedicated to fostering awareness and innovation in the Central Texas culinary community through grants, educational programming and events.

Temporarily closing any portion of a street for a Street Event that requires the public to pay to enter the closure area requires City Council approval under Section 14-8-3 (B) of the City Code. The applicant is in the process of complying with all other requirements for this street event. The Transportation Department recommends approval subject to the applicant complying with all other street closure requirements.
