Authorize negotiation and execution of an interlocal agreement with Williamson County for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of traffic control devices at various locations on Pearson Ranch Road; amending the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Austin Transportation Department Operating Budget Special Revenue Fund (Ordinance No. 20180911-001) to accept funds from Williamson County in the amount of $285,000; and amending the Austin Transportation Department Capital Budget (Ordinance No. 20180911-001) to transfer in and appropriate $285,000 to implement this project.

Funding in the amount of $285,000 is available from Williamson County. A City funding match of $155,000 is required and available in the Austin Transportation Department's Capital Budget. A fiscal note is attached.

August 18, 2016 - Council approved an ordinance to add a 25 MPH school zone to a portion of Pearson Ranch Road for the safety of students attending Elsa England Elementary School.

City of Austin (City) and Williamson County (County) elected officials and staff members have met to discuss the proposed work and develop a plan for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of a new traffic signal at Avery Ranch Boulevard & Pearson Ranch Road, a new pedestrian hybrid beacon at Pearson Ranch Road & Iveans Way, and new school speed limit beacons on Pearson Ranch Road north and south of Iveans Way.
