Prior Council Action:
December 17, 2017 - Council passed Resolution No. 20171214-056 which authorized the submittal of a list of potential transportation projects for the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) 2019-2022 Call for Projects.

September 25, 2014 - Council passed Ordinance No. 20140925-143 which adopted the Urban Trails Master Plan, including the Tier 1 trail, Violet Crown Trail.

Additional Backup Information:
The Violet Crown Trail is part of a proposed 30-mile trail system running from Zilker Park and to Hays County. The South portion of the trail is just under one mile in length and opened in the fall of 2018. This portion begins at the Hampton Branch Public Library, crosses under Mopac Expressway, and extends to Convict Hill Road at Brush Country Road.
The North portion includes a one-mile multi-use trail from Home Depot Boulevard to Mopac Expressway and will provide increased walking and biking improvements. This project will connect to the existing Barton Corridor Trail, other park hike and bike trails, and the new Violet Crown Trail South via sidewalk connections.
