Additional Backup Information:
This item was initiated by Council Resolution 20190131-037 directing the City Manager to develop amendments to Chapter 25-10 of the Land Development Code providing limited allowances for off-premise advertising at public primary and secondary educational facilities and transit facilities, while preserving the general ban on off-premise signs which has been in place since 1983. The proposed amendment creates a new sign type definition of SPONSORSHIP SIGN and a definition for TRANSIT FACILITY, creates an allowance for SPONSORSHIP SIGNS at public schools and transit facilities, and establishes applicable regulations for such signage.
