September 12, 2024 - Council authorized the negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 12 to the agreement with Asian American Resource Center, Inc., d/b/a Asian American Community Health Initiative, for the Community Health Navigator program in the amount of $587,305 for a program period beginning on October 1, 2024 on an 11-0 vote.
August 31, 2023 - Council authorized the negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 11 to the agreement with Asian American Resource Center, Inc., d/b/a Asian American Community Health Initiative, for the Community Health Navigator program in the amount of $587,305 for a program period beginning October 1, 2023, for a total agreement not to exceed amount of $3,516,605 on an 11-0 vote.
July 29, 2021 - Council authorized the negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 9 to the agreement with the Asian American Resource Center for the Community Health Navigator program to add funding in an amount not to exceed $175,000 in the current term and the one remaining 12-month extension option, and add one 12-month extension option in an amount not to exceed $587,305, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $3,341,605 on an 11-0 vote.

The Asian American Resource Center is a Texas nonprofit corporation committed to improving the quality of life of Asian Americans in Austin through research, programming, and services. This program’s services will promote self-management of health and wellness through the clinical community links that enable culturally and contextually relevant care. The Program has served the three most linguistically isolated communities of AA’s (Vietnamese, Korean, Burmese) by providing health care system navigation services, including facilitating enrollment in the Affordable Healthcare Act, and Medicare and Medicaid. With the additional funding, the Program will expand services to Arabic, primarily Syrian and Iraqi refugees from Asia, and Mandarin Chinese, including Taiwanese and Chinese.
