May 18, 2023 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 9 to the agreement with Austin Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center, d/b/a Integral Care, for the provision of permanent supportive housing services, to add funding in an amount not to exceed $460,568, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $8,012,618, on consent without objection.
October 15, 2020 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 5 to add two 12-month extension options beginning October 1, 2020 each in an amount not to exceed $1,074,675, for a revised total agreement not to exceed $7,552,050, on an 11-0 vote.
June 28, 2018 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 3 to add two 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $1,074,674, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $5,402,700, on an 11-0 vote.

The current social services agreement with Austin Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center, d/b/a Integral Care, was awarded from a formal Request for Applications (also known as RFA) process conducted by Austin Public Health, which was issued on September 2, 2014. The original 30-month term was from November 1, 2014 through April 30, 2017, in the amount of $1,380,000.
Approval of this item will authorize Austin Public Health to negotiate and execute Amendment No. 10 to the agreement with Austin Travis County Mental Health Mental Retardation Center, d/b/a Integral Care, to provide permanent supportive housing services. All amendments are listed below:
Amendment No. 9 extended the term of the agreement to September 30, 2024 and added funds in the amount of $460,568, for a revised total agreement amount of $8,012,618.
Amendment No. 8 extended the term of the agreement to September 30, 2023, without additional funding.
Amendment No. 7 modified program exhibits.
Amendment No. 6 exercised the fifth 12-month extension option starting on October 1, 2021.
Amendment No. 5 exercised the fourth 12-month extension option starting on October 1, 2020.
Amendment No. 4 exercised the third 12-month extension option starting October 1, 2019.
Amendment No. 3, exercised the second 12-month extension option starting on January 1, 2018 and added two twelve-month extension options beginning October 1,2018 each in an amount not to exceed $1,074,675, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $5,402,700.
Amendment No 2 exercised a nine-month extension option beginning on January 1, 2018.
Amendment No. 1 combined the two Medicaid 1115 Waiver agreements to eliminate duplicate reporting requirements and related administrative burden, and extended the term of the agreement through December 31, 2017
This Medicaid 1115 Waiver project enhances the City’s existing permanent supportive housing (or PSH) strategy by providing assertive community treatment (also known as ACT) services to individuals who have experienced chronic homelessness and co-occurring psychiatric, substance abuse, and/or chronic medical conditions.
