The Collective Sex Crimes Response Model (CSCRM) project takes a multidisciplinary and victim centered approach to handling of sex crime cases by creating a comprehensive system of change to improve investigative, prosecutorial, supportive, and cultural efforts through the inclusion of representatives from Austin Police, non-profit and community organizations, survivors, and survivor advocates. The contract will allow for continued project management services for the CSCRM to complete project deliverables. Over the past three years, the CSCRM has made substantial progress. Of the 123 initially scoped items, 81 have been completed. The remaining items are in active stages of development and implementation, with the majority on track for completion by the end of 2027.
The contract will also provide for multi-agency facilitation services between Austin Police and the Travis County District Attorney’s Office to support continuous improvement in sex crimes case handling, interagency communication, and evidence sharing processes.
The contract will replace the existing contract which expires October 21, 2026. The recommended contractor is the current provider of these services. The authorization amount is based on the contractor’s proposal and historical spend.
Failure to approve this contract will impact the City’s ability to continue providing effective and inclusive oversight and complete the closeout of the CSCRM project.
