August 28, 2025 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of an amendment to an agreement with American Gateways to provide legal pro se assistance for individuals representing themselves in court, to add one 12-month extension option through the term ending on September 30, 2026, in an amount not to exceed $179,200, for a new revised total contract amount not to exceed $467,500 approved on a 10-0 vote.
November 7, 2024 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of an amendment to an agreement with American Gateways to provide legal pro se assistance for individuals representing themselves in immigration court, adding one-time funding in an amount not to exceed $109,200 for the term ending on September 30, 2025, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $288,300 approved on a 10-1 vote.

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 5 to an agreement with American Gateways for the continuation of their legal pro se assistance programming. This program aids individuals with specific legal needs where there is an upcoming court appearance or deadline and that can be done with pro se legal assistance rather than full legal representation.
The agreement was renewed from 2023 to 2026, including Amendment No. 1 through No. 4.
