The Williamson Creek - Richmond Tributary Rehabilitation project will address the ongoing erosion in the Richmond Tributary to Williamson Creek. The ongoing erosion of the stream banks and bed is putting nearby residential properties and public infrastructure, including utilities and roadways, at risk.
This stream restoration project includes construction of approximately 1,800 linear feet of limestone boulder retaining walls for bank stabilization; installation of large rock riprap for channel stabilization; improvement of two culverts; bank revegetation; and relocation and improvement of water and wastewater lines and service connections.
Due to the potential for unknown subsurface conditions and challenges of working in a natural waterway, a 10% contingency in funding has been included to allow for the expeditious processing of any change orders to cover any unforeseen construction costs associated with the project.
The project proposes lane closures and detours. The contractor will work to ensure that residents and businesses always have access to their driveways. If access cannot be maintained, written notice of limited access will be provided to the affected property owner(s) at least 24 hours in advance.
A delay in contract approval would result in worsening of erosion conditions increasing the risk to residential properties and public infrastructure.
The contract allows 608 calendar days for completion of this project.
