This project is for the relocation of water and wastewater lines in conflict with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) roadway improvements along Capital of Texas Highway/Loop 360 at Lakewood Drive. The project will relocate approximately 690 linear feet of 12-inch waterlines, 3,000 linear feet of 24-inch waterlines, 1,250 linear feet of 8-inch waterlines, and 400 linear feet of 12-inch wastewater lines. In accordance with the Utility Joint Use Agreement, the City has agreed to relocate all City facilities within the TxDOT right of way in conflict with the roadway improvements. The general route of the project is along the Capital of Texas Highway/Loop 360 corridor at Lakeline Drive.

 

The City has attempted to purchase the needed property at 6801 North Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, Texas 78731. The City and the property owner have been unable to agree on the value of the acquisition needed. The Law Department is requesting authorization to file an action in eminent domain on behalf of the City, and to authorize the City to pay for the property interest in an amount determined by the appraisal, updated appraisal(s), a Special Commissioners’ award, negotiated settlement, or judgment.
