Additional Backup Information:

This amendment will provide continued use of the VMRay cybersecurity tool designed to protect computer systems by examining suspicious software or files for signs of malicious intent. This tool offers a secure, isolated environment where it inspects files and software, studying their behavior, actions, and any potential network communication attempts. With this information, VMRay can provide detailed insights on the nature of potential threats and propose solutions to alleviate these risks, serving as a security guard, monitoring for potential intruders to safeguard the overall health of the computer network. Due to capacity issues, overages, and service changes, the Information Security Office (ISO) required an upgrade to the unlimited service option to eliminate the possibility of additional charges and guarantee the integrity of the security architecture.

A delay in approving this amendment will impact the security of the City’s computer network.

The Texas Association of School Boards, Inc. (BuyBoard) is a cooperative purchasing association recognized under Texas procurement statutes. Cooperative associations, themselves or using a lead government, competitively solicit and award contracts that are eligible for use by other qualified state and local governments. Due to their substantial volumes, larger than any one government could achieve independently, cooperative contracts routinely include superior terms, conditions, and pricing. Use of cooperative contracts also results in lower administrative costs and time savings.
