This contract will provide the City with critical water and wastewater facility parts, equipment, and technical services necessary to support operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and worker safety at Austin Water facilities. This agreement is essential to ensure continued and timely access to specialized items such as flow and level transmitters, analytical sensors, fixed gas detection systems, valves, actuators, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement components.
This is a new contract. The requested authorization was determined using departmental estimates based on anticipated future usage. Vector Controls and Automation Group is the sole authorized distributor and service provider for several key equipment lines in Texas, including Av-Tek, Draeger, Endress+Hauser and Kurz, that are essential to Austin Water’s operations. No other vendor is authorized to supply OEM parts or provide certified support.
A delay in contract approval could impact the City’s procurement timelines and cause limited access to manufacturer-authorized parts and support, and impact operational reliability, and public safety.
