Additional Backup Information:
This contract currently provides Siemens Building Automation System maintenance and repair services, including preventative maintenance, technical support, and repairs for City departments. It is used to monitor and adjust heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to optimize performance and reduce energy consumption. At the Forensic Science Department facility, the system controls the entire HVAC system, including the fume hood and biohood exhaust systems, the bullet recovery exhaust system, and the ballistics shooting range.
The requested additional authority is needed to expand these services to include the Combined Transportation Emergency Communications Center building (known as CTECC). A contingency amount has also been included to address the impact of tariffs on building products supplied by the vendor. This contract amendment is essential for maintaining and enhancing City operations by ensuring continued maintenance and repair services across various departments.
A delay in approval of this amendment could impact the City’s ability to support the addition of the CTECC to the contract.
