Additional Backup Information:
These contracts will continue to provide Cisco and Meraki products and services, including maintenance and support. Departments across the City utilize Cisco and Meraki hardware software products and services to improve network efficiency, reduce downtime and support critical operations. The contracts also cover the City’s needs for new network equipment, software, and related services on an as needed basis. Due to nationwide datacenter expansion supply is expected to tighten and drive prices upward, City departments are accelerating planned purchases to avoid higher costs and potential unavailability.
Planned purchases under this contract include:
• Austin Technology Services - extension of critical Cisco infrastructure support, on-premises voice solution for Public Safety, replacement of aging network hardware, and completion of data center lifecycle refresh projects to maintain reliable and secure operations.
• Austin Energy - critical infrastructure for both information technology and operational technology to upgrade key components that are reaching end of life.
• Aviation - technology and network support for the new Concourses M and B.
• Austin Convention Center - infrastructure, technology, and operational requirements related to the expansion project.
• Austin Water - ongoing technology refresh and lifecycle replacement purchases, buildout of the new operations campus/service center hub, and the anticipated start of a major technology modernization cycle. These systems support secure communication between treatment plants, lift stations, field staff, and administrative locations.
