Austin Financial Services issued an Invitation for Bids solicitation IFB 5300 BYS1054 for these goods. The solicitation was published on May 18, 2026, and closed on June 16, 2026. Of the four offers received, the bid submitted by the recommended contractor was the lowest responsive bid received. This contract will be awarded in compliance with the City Code Chapter 2-9B (Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program). For the goods required for this solicitation, there were no subcontracting opportunities; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established.

The contract will provide tactical uniforms, ballistic vests, and related uniform items for Austin Development Services Code Compliance personnel. These items are essential to ensure field staff have standardized uniforms and protective gear that support employee safety, professional identification, and operational readiness while conducting inspections and enforcement activities. Performance will be measured through contract utilization, timely fulfillment of uniform and vest requirements, and maintaining appropriate protective gear for eligible staff.

 

This is a new contract. The requested authorization amount is based on historical spending and departmental estimates of future needs.

 

If a contract is not approved, Code Compliance personnel may experience delays in obtaining required new or replacement uniform items and protective gear to safely and effectively perform their duties, which could impact employee safety, operational readiness, and compliance with departmental uniform requirements.
