Prior Council Action:

April 18, 2024 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 3 to the interlocal agreement with Austin Independent School District to provide tutoring and academic support for youth, to add funding in an amount not to exceed $27,193 for the term beginning on October 1, 2023, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $1,108,905. The action was approved on consent on an 11-0 vote.

March 23, 2023 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 1 to the interlocal agreement with the Austin Independent School District to provide tutoring and academic support for youth, to add funding in an amount not to exceed $27,223 for the term of October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $1,081,712, on consent on an 11-0 vote.

April 7, 2022 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of agreements with 17 social service agencies for community-based social services and capacity building to area youth in an amount not to exceed $6,727,158 for a 15-month term beginning July 1, 2022, with four 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $5,577,331, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $29,036,482 divided among the agencies, on a 9-1 vote with Mayor Adler voting no and Council Member Harper-Madison absent.

Additional Backup Information:

This action will authorize additional funding for tutoring and academic support for low-income youth through Austin Independent School District’s (AISD) VICTORY Tutorial program. VICTORY Tutorial offers AISD students high-quality, academic support to reach grade-level standards in core subjects. VICTORY collaborates with campus administration and teachers to target tutoring services to students demonstrating high need without access to resources and increases academic achievement, advancement to the next grade, and/or graduation for all students served.

 

Amendment No. 3 added $27,193 to the agreement as approved by Council for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

 

Amendment No. 2 exercised the first extension option to the agreement for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

 

Amendment No. 1 added $27,223 to the agreement for October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023.

 

The current social services agreement with Austin Independent School District was awarded as part of 17 social service agencies listed in the Recommendation for Action for community-based social services and capacity building to area youth in an amount not to exceed $6,727,158 for a 15-month term beginning July 1, 2022, with four 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $5,577,331, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $29,036,482 divided among the agencies.
