Funding: $132,040 is available in the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Operating Budget of the Austin Police Department. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

This contract will provide public safety camera hardware and software, installation, maintenance, and support services for High Activity Location Observation (HALO) cameras. The HALO public safety camera system is part of an ongoing effort to aid the Austin Police Department in deterring, detecting, and investigating crime in the downtown business district and other areas of the City.
Hitachi Vantara Corporation d/b/a Hitachi Vantara LLC is the original equipment manufacturer and is the sole provider of these products and services.
A delay in contract approval could impact required software upgrades, maintenance, and support of existing equipment risking the potential for security vulnerabilities and operational failures.
