Funding in the amount of $292,744 is available in the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget.

 

Prior Council Action:

August 31, 2023 - Council approved Amendment No. 10 to an agreement with Family Eldercare to add one 12-month extension option beginning October 1, 2023, in an amount not to exceed $390,325, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $3,735,939 on an 11-0 vote.

 

August 26, 2021 - Council approved Amendment No. 8 to an agreement with Family Eldercare, to increase funding in an amount not to exceed $125,308 in one-time funds for the current term and add two twelve-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $390,325, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $3,345,614 on a 9-0 vote with Mayor Pro Tem Harper-Madison and Council Member Kelly off the dais.

 

July 29, 2020 - Council approved Amendment No. 6 with Family Eldercare, increasing funding in an amount not to exceed $125,308, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $2,439,656 on a 10-0 vote with Mayor Adler off the dais.

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of amendment No. 12 with Family Eldercare to provide services to help seniors and people with disabilities maintain dignity, independent living, and household by utilizing the final extension option for nine months.

 

Amendment No. 11 modified program exhibits.

 

Amendment No. 10 exercised the sixth extension option in the amount of $390,325 for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

 

Amendment No. 9 exercised the fifth extension option in the amount of $390,325 for the period of October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023.

 

Amendment No. 8 exercised the fourth extension option in the amount of $515,633 for the period of October 1, 2021, to September 30, 2022

 

Amendment No. 7 modified the program exhibits for the period of August 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021.

 

Amendment No. 6 added one-time funds of $125,308 beginning on August 1, 2020, and exercised the third extension option beginning on October 1, 2020, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $2,439,656.

 

Amendment No. 5 exercised the second extension option for $390,325 for the period of October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2020.

 

Amendment No. 4 exercised the first extension option for $390,325 for the period of October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019.

 

Amendment No. 3 added $9,520 for the period of September 1, 2015, to September 30, 2018, due to a 2.5 percent annual cost of living increase for social services agreements approved by the Council during the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget adoption process.

 

Amendment No. 2 added $17,124 for the period of September 1, 2015, to September 30, 2018, due to a 2.3 percent annual cost of living increase for social services agreements approved by the Council during the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Budget adoption process.

 

Amendment No. 1 added $63,210 for the period of September 1, 2015, to September 30, 2018, due to a six percent annual cost of living increase for social services agreements approved by the Council during the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Budget adoption process.

 

The current social services agreement with Family Eldercare was awarded as a result of the Austin Public Health Department’s Self-Sufficiency Request for Applications in Fiscal Year 2013-2014.  Services began on September 1, 2015, for an initial 37-month term ending on September 30, 2018, in the amount of $1,053,519, with three 12-month extension options in the amount of $351,173 per extension option.
