Additional Backup Information:

This action will authorize continuance of the City’s membership in the Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council (ASACC) for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. In August 2015, Council directed the Austin Transportation Department to fully fund the City’s membership to the Austin-San Antonio Corridor Council. The membership in previous fiscal years was split by the Planning and Development Review and Austin Transportation Departments.

The ASACC is a private non-profit corporation composed of members from the region’s business and private sectors. Its membership includes 15 local government and 60 private firms and individuals. The ASACC was formed in 1983 with the purposes of promoting the region’s economic development and promoting the long-range planning and coordination to the region. The ASACC continues those stated purposes through regional economic development efforts and an ongoing involvement in regional infrastructure planning and implementation. Member organizations are required to pay annual dues.

The Transportation and Public Works Department staff recommends approval of this item.
