Prior Council Action:

February 29, 2024 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 10 for the agreement with The University of Texas at Austin to improve birth outcomes and maternal/infant health among vulnerable communities of color in Austin, to add one six-month extension option ending on September 30, 2024, in an amount not to exceed S204,472, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $3,447,106, on consent on a 10-0 vote. Council Member Harper-Madison off the dais.

 

February 17, 2022 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 8 to the interlocal agreement with The University of Texas at Austin to provide funding for community-based health prevention and education programs, to add two 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $408,944, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $3,242,634, on an 11-0 vote.

Additional Backup Information:

This action will authorize the negotiation and execution of Amendment 11 to the agreement with The University of Texas at Austin, for the Mama Sana/Vibrant Woman program to improve birth outcomes and maternal/infant health among vulnerable communities of color in Austin by addressing the unique barriers faced by African American and Latina women with low-income.

 

Amendment No. 10 exercised the eighth extension option in the amount of $204,472 for the period of April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024.

 

Amendment No. 9 exercised the seventh extension option in the amount of $408,944 for the period of April 1,

2023, to March 31, 2024.

 

Amendment No. 8 exercised the sixth extension option in the amount of $408,944 for the period of April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, and added two 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $408,944,

 

Amendment No. 7 exercised the fifth extension option in the amount of $408,944 for April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022.

 

Amendment No. 6 exercised the fourth extension option in the amount of $408,944 for April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021.

 

Amendment No. 5 exercised the third extension option in the amount of $408,944 for April 1, 2019, to March 31, 2020.

 

Amendment No. 4 modified the program exhibits.

 

Amendment No. 3 added $9,974 to the base agreement with a 2.3% cost of living increase to the agreement approved by the Council for the Fiscal Year April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019.

 

Amendment No. 2 exercised the second extension option in the amount of $398,970 for April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019.

 

Amendment No. 1 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $398,970 from April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2018. 

 

The current social services agreement with The University of Texas at Austin was awarded because of the Austin Public Health Department’s Health Equity Request for Applications. Services that began on April 1, 2016, for an initial 12-month term ending on March 31, 2017, in the amount of $390,000, with five 12-month extension options in the amount of $390,000 per extension option with a not to exceed the amount of $2,340,000.
