Additional Backup Information:
Austin Public Health (APH) has been awarded the Retail Flexible Funding Model Grant from the National Environmental Health Association and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This project will enable work on Retail Program Standards one through eight, to work towards meeting Retail Program Standard nine, and provide funding for staff training.
Project Summary: APH is working diligently to conform with Retail Program Standards by adjusting our policies, processes, and documentation. APH will continue implementation of a risk factor study to allow us to explore and identify any common foodborne illness risk factor violations within our retail food establishments and strategize intervention to reduce them. APH is building in long-term success of our Retail Program Standards program by attending the Association of Food and Drug Officials Conference. Note: The reason for the reduced funding amount is a result of an overall funding reduction to the NEHA-FDA RFFM Grant Program for Calendar Year 2025. The grant period is from April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2028.
