Additional Backup Information:

The amendment will provide continued licensing, maintenance, and support services for the Arista information technology (IT) networking platform which provides service delivery, management, workflow, disaster recovery for servers, and storage hardware resources for various City departments. The platform provides access to current software and security patches and around-the-clock contractor support to help protect City resources and data, while improving the stability, efficiency, and scalability of IT infrastructure. The additional authority will allow Austin Energy Control Engineering (CE) to establish a strategy for reducing supply chain risk regarding both availability and financial impacts.

Austin Energy CE is responsible for several critical infrastructure system functions, including managing the distribution grid and supporting customer-facing applications responsible for outage restoration status tracking and communication, providing the capability to monitor and control the transmission and distribution electrical grid, and providing advanced engineering applications that allow staff to analyze data and make operational decisions. Its automated functions enhance distribution system reliability and operational efficiency by managing outages and coordinating field crew assignments. The estimated quantities are based on the Arista licensing, maintenance, and support services needed to support these critical systems during the remaining term of this contract.
