Prior Council Action:

August 29, 2024 - Council approved the negotiation and execution of an amendment to an agreement with Youth and Family Alliance doing business as Lifeworks on a 10-0 vote. Council Member Harper-Madison was absent.

 

December 8, 2022 - Council approved the negotiation and execution of an agreement with Youth and Family Alliance doing business as LifeWorks on an 11-0 vote.

Additional Backup Information:

This action will add $13,813 to the remaining two 12-month extension options of the agreement with Lifeworks, beginning September 1, 2025. Throughout this agreement, LifeWorks has helped 1,014 unduplicated clients. The funding comes from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs’ Homeless Housing and Services Youth Set-Aside Program. On May 19, 2025, the Homeless Strategy Office received notification of the 2026 allocation of funding for Austin in the amount of $167,479 for the program term of September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2026.

 

Amendment No. 4 authorized a no-cost amendment to modify program exhibits for the period of September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.

 

Amendment No. 3 exercised the second extension option in the amount of $161,187 for the period of September 1, 2024, to August 31, 2025.

 

Amendment No. 2 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $231,319 for the period of September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024.

 

Amendment No. 1 added grant funds to the agreement for the period of September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023.

 

The original agreement was approved for a term of 12 months ending on August 31, 2023, in an amount not to exceed $165,044.

 

This agreement was awarded through the Request for Proposal (RFP) 2022-004 Homeless Crisis Response Services. The RFP was released on March 31, 2022. Over 650 vendors were solicited, resulting in 15 proposals submitted. Of those submitted, one proposal was submitted for the Youth Set-Aside crisis response, and one was awarded.
