September 30, 2021 - Council authorized the negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 8 to add two 12-month extension options, each in an amount not to exceed $2,718,528, for a total revised agreement amount not to exceed $21,757,104, on a 10-1 vote with Council Member Kelly voting no.

This action will authorize the continuation of an existing social services agreement with Worksource Greater Austin Area Workforce Board d/b/a Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board, to provide funding for adult basic education, high school equivalency (e.g. GED) classes and testing, English classes for speakers of other languages, digital literacy, occupational training, and vocational training for adults residing in Austin-Travis County who have low-income. All amendments are listed below:
Amendment No. 9 exercised the fifth extension option in the amount of $2,718,528 for the period of October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023.
Amendment No. 8 exercised the fourth extension option in the amount of $2,718,528 for the period of October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022.
Amendment No. 7 exercised the third extension option in the amount of $2,718,528 for the period of October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021.
Amendment No. 6 exercised the second extension option in the amount of $2,718,528 and added one-time funds of $15,000 for the period of October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.
Amendment No. 5 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $2,718,528 for the period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.
Amendment No. 4 added $55,000 to the 37-month base agreement due to a 2.3 percent annual cost-of-living increase for social services agreements approved by Council during the Fiscal year 2016-2017 budget adoption process.
Amendment No. 3 added $122,240 to the 37-month base agreement due to a 6 percent annual cost-of-living increase for social services agreements approved by Council during the Fiscal Year 2016-2017 budget adoption process.
Amendment No. 2 was a no-cost amendment to make changes to the agreement exhibits.
Amendment No. 1 added $451,257 to the 37-month base agreement due to a 6 percent annual cost-of-living increase for social services agreements approved by Council during the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 budget adoption process.
The City entered into the agreement with WorkSource Greater Austin Area Workforce Board in 2015 in the amount of $7,520,967 for an initial 37-month term.
