Council Committee, Boards and Commission Action:
July 18, 2024 – Austin Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) Board authorized negotiation and execution of an amendment to the agreement with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. for eviction representation and outreach services to extend the term of the agreement through September 30, 2025, and to increase the agreement amount by $275,000, for a total contract amount not to exceed $495,000.

Following a competitive solicitation process in 2023, Staff recommended negotiating and executing an agreement with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. in the amount of $220,000 to provide eviction representation services. The agreement was administratively approved because it fell under the $300,000 AHFC procurement limit. The initial term of the agreement began on July 1, 2023, and ended on June 30, 2024. The term was extended to September 30, 2025, by a first amendment to the agreement and to September 30, 2026, by a second amendment to the agreement.
The funds and services under this agreement will continue aid to those who are most vulnerable to eviction without legal assistance and representation.
