Additional Backup Information:

The 2020 Bond Traffic and Pedestrian Signals-Installation and Maintenance Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) project consists of providing the following services, including but not limited to the labor, materials, equipment, tools, construction equipment, and other facilities and services necessary for proper execution, testing, and completion of the installation of traffic and pedestrian signals or the maintenance of such infrastructure.

The contract is an IDIQ contract. It provides an indefinite quantity of services for a fixed time, usually an initial term with extension options. They are commonly used when precise quantities of supplies or services, above a specified minimum, cannot be determined. IDIQ contracts help streamline the contract process and service delivery and allow the City the flexibility to add work as needs arise or change. As each project is defined, a specific work assignment will be given to the contractor who will complete the scope of work for the unit prices included in the contract. Work deadlines will be established for each work assignment.

This IDIQ contract includes engineered specifications for the timely maintenance of existing traffic signals and pedestrian hybrid beacons (PHBs) as well as modifications to existing traffic signals and PHBs as identified. Each work order for work will be accompanied by detail showing the location of the equipment to be installed. The base bid was used to identify and determine the lowest responsive bidder and to determine contract unit prices for each bid item.

This amendment allows for additional planned work assignments until additional contracts are executed. A delay in issuing this amendment may affect the delivery of critical improvements in Austin and impact the Mobility component of the 2020 Mobility Bond.

This project is located at various locations within the City limits.
