Additional Backup Information:
The primary purpose of the project is to capture and treat runoff from the upstream drainage area to improve the Environmental Integrity Index scores which measure water quality, physical integrity, non-contact recreation and aesthetics, aquatic life support, and to also reduce pollutant loads discharged into Lady Bird Lake.
This project is a retrofit to a failing stormwater control measure consisting of three sedimentation ponds and two wet ponds. Two of the three sedimentation ponds will be restored, and the existing two wet ponds will be combined, increasing the overall stormwater control footprint by 27%.
Due to the potential for unknown subsurface conditions, a 10% contingency in funding has been included to allow for the expeditious processing of any change orders to cover any unforeseen construction costs associated with the project. By authorizing the additional contingency funding, Council is authorizing any change orders within the contingency amount.
