The contract will provide LinkedIn Learning licenses to maintain an essential workforce development resource that directly supports operational readiness, retention, and succession planning. LinkedIn Learning provides more than 24,000 expert led courses accessible 24/7 on any device, ensuring all employees, regardless of department, role, or schedule, have equitable access to high-quality training and the ability to build essential competencies in project management, construction management, budgeting, analytical skills, business analysis, stakeholder management, team leadership, and key software systems.
This contract will replace an existing contract which expires October 4, 2026. The requested authorization amount was determined using departmental estimates based on historical spend and anticipated future usage.
Cooperative purchasing associations are recognized under Texas procurement statutes. Cooperative associations, themselves or using a lead government, competitively solicit and award contracts that are eligible for use by other qualified state and local governments. Due to their substantial volumes, larger than any one government could achieve independently, cooperative contracts routinely include superior terms, conditions, and pricing. Use of cooperative contracts also results in lower administrative costs and time savings.
A delay in contract approval could impact the City’s access to LinkedIn Learning's courses, interrupting in-progress training and succession planning across departments.
