Prior Council Action:

September 30, 2021 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 7 to an agreement with Goodwill Industries of Central Texas to provide funding for workforce development services, to add two 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $776,551, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $6,157,495, on a 10-1 vote with Council Member Kelly voting nay.

Additional Backup Information:

This action would authorize the continuation of an existing social services agreement with Goodwill Industries of Central Texas d/b/a Goodwill Centex. The program provides vocational training in targeted occupations and industries as defined by the Hire Local and Austin Metro Community Workforce Plans. All amendments are listed below:

 

Amendment No 8 exercised the fifth extension option in the amount of $776,551 for the period of October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023

 

Amendment No 7 exercised the fourth extension option in the amount of $776,551 for the period of October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022

 

Amendment No 6 exercised the third extension option in the amount of $776,551 for the period of October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. 

 

Amendment No 5 exercised the second extension option in the amount of $776,551 for the period of October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020.

 

Amendment No 4 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $776,551 for the period of October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019.

 

Amendment No 3 added $18,940 to the 37-month base agreement with a 2.5% cost of living increase to the agreement, which was approved by Council for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.

 

Amendment No 2 added $34,066 to the 37-month base agreement with a 2.3% cost of living increase to the agreement approved by Council for Fiscal Year 2016-2017.

 

Amendment No 1 added $125,757 to the 37-month base agreement with a 6% cost of living increase to the agreement, approved by Council for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 in an amount not to exceed $4,443,468.

 

The City entered into the agreement with Goodwill Industries of Central Texas in 2015 in the amount of $2,095,977 for an initial 37-month term.
