The revised total contract amount is required for additional Local Mobility Program work assignments, which are set to enhance safety and mobility at various city locations. City of Austin Local Mobility Programs rely on this Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract to complete various work assignments for safety and mobility improvement. The planned local mobility work assignments for 2025 exceed the amount of this IDIQ contract’s authority. This contract has a remaining contract balance of approximately $595,272, while local mobility programs have a need for over $1,000,000 in construction work assignments planned for 2025. These projects will remain part of the 2020 Safety and Active Transportation Bond. Any delay or denial in increasing this contract could impact the delivery of several key projects, including critical safety, pedestrian safety, speed management, transit access, and signal safety improvements.
This construction contract is serving multiple programs such as Vision Zero/Safety, Speed Management, Transit Enhancement, Safe Routes to School, and Signals. These projects were identified and developed based on safety, operations, and connectivity for all modes of transportation.
The following potential projects are identified for work assignments that would utilize this additional contingency. These projects are subject to change based on schedule changes and cost estimates.
• Pecan Brook Drive and Crystalbrook Drive Safety and Mobility Improvements - District 1

• Canyon Ridge Drive/E. Yager lane/Tech Ridge Boulevard Intersection Safety and Transit Improvements - District 1
