The Financial Services Department issued a Request for Proposals solicitation RFP 5800 SLW3017 for these services. The solicitation was issued on April 22, 2024, and closed on May 14, 2024. This solicitation was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9B (Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program). For the services required for this solicitation, there were insufficient subcontracting opportunities and an insufficient number of certified M/WBEs; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established.

This contract is for a broker of record to provide comprehensive aircraft liability and physical damage hull insurance coverage for Austin Police Department’s aircraft fleet which consists of a 2022 H125 helicopter, 2013 Eurocopter AS 350 helicopter, 1994 Bell 206B helicopter, and 1973 Cessna 182P airplane. These aircrafts are housed at the Austin Executive Airport in Pflugerville and are used for law enforcement and surveillance activities.
This contract will replace a contract expiring October 2, 2024. The recommended contractor is the current provider of these services. Estimates for the projected contract costs are based on historical expenditures, department estimates, and increased aircraft replacement and repair costs.
An evaluation team with expertise in this area evaluated the offers and scored Acrisure Aerospace Partners Insurance Solutions, LLC as the best to provide these services based on coverage terms and conditions, price, proposer experience, local business preference, small business preference, and contract form compliance.
If a contract is not secured, the City could have an interruption in aircraft liability and physical damage hull insurance coverage.
