November 12, 2020 - Council approved a construction manager at risk contract with Flintco, LLC, for preconstruction and construction services for the Colony Park and Givens District Park Aquatic Facilities project.

Additional Backup Information:
With passage of the 2018 Bond, the Parks and Recreation Department received funding for the redevelopment of the Givens District Park Aquatic Facility and the development of a Colony Park Aquatic Facility. The facilities are in response to the 2014 Aquatic Assessment recommendations and the 2018 Aquatic Master Plan.
This amendment will support the projects through their completion, with an estimated completion date of summer 2024. This increase in the construction cost limitation will provide reasonable resources to manage any remaining unforeseen conditions for the duration of the project.
The construction cost limitation is not the contract amount, but rather a budget threshold that the final contract amount shall not exceed without Council approval and is an amount that includes all work including preconstruction phase services and construction phase services, fees, and construction contingencies.
A delay in this funding increase will impact the project timeline, possibly delaying completion in the Summer 2024.
The two project sites are located within zip codes 78721 and 78724 (District 1).
