Fiscal Note
Funding in the amount of $623,333 is available in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Operating Budget of Austin Energy. Funding for the remaining contract term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

The Financial Services Department issued an Invitation for Bids (IFB) 1100 MEA1048 for these goods. The solicitation was issued on May 29, 2023, and closed on June 20, 2023. Of the four offers received, the recommended contractors submitted the lowest responsive offers. Additional Backup Information:
These contracts will provide polyvinyl chloride conduit (PVC) and accessories for Austin Energy. PVC is used by Austin Energy to run cable to underground electrical vaults and duct banks. These contracts will also replenish warehouse stock for immediate issue to crews on an as-needed basis.
This recommendation is in accordance with Local Government Code 271.905 and Resolution number 20140807-113 to invoke local preference. The local bidder, Texas Electric Cooperatives, is offering the best combination of contract price and additional economic development opportunities for the City created by the contract award, including the employment of residents and increased tax revenues.
