Additional Backup Information:

This contract will provide a comprehensive water treatment program for optimizing boiler water, cooling water, chilled water, and water production equipment at City facilities such as district cooling plants, power plants, and the airport. Services include reducing or eliminating scaling, corrosion, and microbial organisms, and testing for legionella bacteria. The contractor will provide equipment and a specialized chemical blend for each facility in addition to regular monitoring and testing services to maintain required chemistry levels.

These services are necessary to prevent hazardous public health issues that could potentially spread to all facilities within the district cooling networks encompassing the downtown central business district, Domain area, and Mueller redevelopment zone. These services are also necessary to optimize City equipment and prevent damage, which could result in a shutdown of operations.

An evaluation team with expertise in this area evaluated the offers and scored ChemTreat, Inc. as the best to provide these services based on experience, work plan, safety, price, local business preference, and small business preference.
