Approval of this item will authorize Amendment No. 4 to the Rehousing Aging Adults Program agreement to add funding in the amount of $882,435 beginning on February 1, 2025. The program helps clients transition from homelessness into permanent housing and provides supportive services to their housing stability. Supportive services include peer support, housing search assistance, financial assistance, and case management. Throughout their contract, Family Eldercare has served 192 unduplicated clients. If authorization of Amendment No. 4 is not approved, then it will limit the Homeless Strategy Office’s ability to provide rapid rehousing services.
Amendment No. 3 modified the agreement exhibits and exercised the second extension option in the amount of $959,934 for the period of October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
Amendment No. 2 modified the agreement exhibits for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
Amendment No. 1 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $959,934 for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
The original agreement was approved for a term of 12 months ending on September 30, 2023, in an amount not to exceed $959,934, with four 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $3,839,736, for a total agreement not to exceed $4,799,670.
This agreement was awarded through the Request for Proposals (RFP) 2022-001 Homeless Housing Stabilization Services which was informed by the Homeless Strategy Division and released on January 31, 2022. Two optional pre-bid meetings were conducted, one on February 1, 2022, and another on February 4, 2022, with applications due March 9, 2022. Over 650 vendors were solicited, resulting in the receipt of nine rapid re-housing proposals. Of the nine rapid re-housing proposals submitted, five were awarded with funding from the Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget.
