This contract will provide Austin Water access to bottled drinking water when a water emergency disrupts City water services or other emergency water needs. Emergency drinking water supply needs were identified in after-action reports following recent water service disruptions and in the Winter Storm Review Task Force report findings (Resolution 2021325-067). Access to safe drinking water during a water-related emergency or outbreak is necessary if drinking water or sewer systems are compromised and safe drinking water is not available.
This will replace a contract that expired on October 17, 2023. The estimated quantities are based on the current contract’s usage. The recommended contractor is the current provider for these goods.
A delay in approving this item could result in the City’s inability to quickly deploy drinking water to the Austin public.
