The contract with Veritext LLC d/b/a Veritext Texas provides court reporting services to the Austin City Attorney’s Office to preserve an accurate written record of testimony in depositions, administrative hearings, litigation and pre-litigation matters, and civil-service proceedings and for the purpose of drafting motions, post-hearing briefs, possible appeals, and potential additional litigation proceedings. The contract became effective on September 4, 2025.
Additional funding is required due to higher-than-anticipated demand for court reporting services driven by an increase in court proceedings and legal activity. This increased volume has exceeded initial projections that were made based on past historical spend, and the additional funds are necessary to ensure continuity of essential services and support ongoing operational needs.
