Council Committee, Boards and Commission Action:

Additional Backup Information:
This amendment will provide hardware replacement for the existing end-of-life A10 Networks products for load balancer hardware. Load balancer hardware distributes web application traffic to prevent application servers from becoming overwhelmed. A10 Networks hardware is utilized in all Austin Energy data centers providing load balancing for domain name services, web services, and data power in support of virtually all Austin Energy-hosted applications.
Additional time and funding are needed to incorporate hardware replacement and associated maintenance costs that were planned but inadvertently omitted from the original request.
Without this contract, Austin Energy would be unable to replace outdated hardware.
