Additional Backup Information:

The City of Austin, Travis County (County), and WorkSource - Greater Austin Area Workforce Board, a/k/a Workforce Solutions Capital Area (WFS Capital Area) desire to enter into an interlocal agreements outlining the functions, responsibilities, roles, and relationships of the three parties related to the delivery of workforce development services under the Texas Workforce and Economic Competitiveness Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 2308. The proposed agreement has an initial one-year term and four automatic one-year extensions, the last of which expires on July 31, 2030.

 

State law requires the City and the County to enter into an agreement with the WFS Capital Area Board of Directs (Board) setting forth the functions, responsibilities, roles, and relationships of each party, including the selection of the Board as the Grant Recipient/Fiscal Agent and Administrative Entity and the development of a local workforce development plan. The agreement provides for coordination of efforts to develop the most comprehensive, effective, and efficient services possible for residents of the City and the County, with funding primarily allocated through the federal Workforce Investment Act. No City funding is required.
