Additional Backup Information:
This amendment will allow the continued purchase of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and repair services for City-owned Altec utility equipment. The City currently owns 23 units with Altec components, including bucket trucks, hole digger trucks, boom cranes, and portable air conditioners. These units are operated by various departments. The parts will be used by Austin Fleet Mobility Services (Fleet) technicians for preventive maintenance and repair services at Fleet Service Centers, and the services will supplement the repairs performed by Fleet technicians.
The additional contract authority is needed for repairs that exceed the projected annual spending established when the contract was first created. The request also accounts for expected price increases.
Altec Industries Inc. is the manufacturer of Altec vehicles and is the sole source provider for Altec OEM parts, accessories, and services. There are no other authorized retailers or dealers.
