Additional Backup Information:
This contract will provide the Customer FIRST Support and Service Program that supports Austin Energy’s Foxboro control systems and associated controls network at Sand Hill Energy Center. Services include ongoing maintenance and technical support for the control systems installed on all Sand Hill units and will maintain reliability of the power-generating units at the facility through software updates, cybersecurity services, firewall replacement, preventative maintenance, hardware support, training, field service, and 24/7 technical assistance.
Schneider Electric Systems USA, Inc. is the sole manufacturer authorized to service, support, and provide warranty coverage for this proprietary control system. Maintenance and support for the Foxboro system were previously provided by Schneider Electric Systems USA, Inc. under a prior agreement. The requested authorization amount for this contract was determined using departmental estimates and contractor’s proposal.
Without this contract, Austin Energy would lack the specialized support necessary to maintain and upgrade the control systems, placing the safe operation of critical generation units at risk. Delays or failures in system performance could directly affect power-generation capacity and system stability at Sand Hill Energy Center.
