Austin Financial Services issued an Invitation for Bids solicitation IFB 5000 MAS1002 for these goods and services. The solicitation was published on August 25, 2025, and closed on September 23, 2025. Of the 17 offers received, the recommended contractors submitted the lowest responsive offers. This solicitation was reviewed for subcontracting opportunities in accordance with City Code Chapter 2-9B (Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program). For the goods and services required for this solicitation, there were no subcontracting opportunities; therefore, no subcontracting goals were established. However, one of the recommended contractors identified subcontracting opportunities.

These contracts will provide landscape maintenance services, including scheduled and seasonal mowing services, for approximately 180 City buildings and facilities. Services will include mowing, trimming, edging, tree trimming, shrub maintenance, leaf removal, debris removal, pest control, mulching, fertilization, and irrigation and sprinkler system inspection and repair. The contractors will provide all equipment, fuel, and labor to complete the work covered under this contract. These services are needed to maintain the grass and other landscape elements on the grounds and exterior of City facilities, ensuring the health and safety of employees and customers and providing a clean and tidy appearance at all City sites. The contract scope requires that the contractors actively seek innovative approaches to reduce their impact on the environment through use of low-emission equipment and other sustainable practices such as reducing emissions, noise and the use of chemicals which may adversely impact the environment.
These contracts will replace existing contracts that expire May 6, 2026. One of the recommended contractors is one of the current providers for these services. ABH Pros is a City-certified MWB and is certified as a state of Texas Historically Underutilized Business.
If these contracts are not secured, the City will not be able to adequately maintain its grounds and facilities. Unchecked or overgrown vegetation will create safety hazards, diminish the professional appearance of City facilities, and negatively affect the City’s public image.
