Fiscal Note
Funding in the amount of $620,000 is available in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Austin Public Health Department’s Operating Budget. Funding for the remaining years of the agreement is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.
Prior Council Action:
May 30, 2024 – Council authorized the negotiation and execution of an agreement with Life Anew Restorative Justice, Inc. to provide academic and personal development services to youth to reduce harm and violence, for a 16-month term beginning on June 1, 2024, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $826,664 on an 11-0 vote.

The current social services agreement with Life Anew, Inc. was awarded as a result of Austin Public Health Department’s Reimagining Public Safety Initiative. Services began on June 1, 2024, for an initial 16-month term ending on September 30, 2025, in the amount of $826,664.
Life Anew Restorative Justice, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that employs restorative practices coordinators to train school staff, students, parents, and community volunteers to engage one another in intentional conversations that lead to deep, meaningful relationships that result in life transformation.
