Prior Council Action:
May 19, 2022 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 4 to the agreement with the University of Texas at Austin to provide African American mental health and wellness services, to add three 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $178,685, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $1,072,110, approved on consent in an 11-0 vote.
June 20, 2019 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of an agreement with four social services agencies to provide African American mental health and wellness services for a 12-month term beginning July 1, 2019, and two 12-month extension options, each in an amount not to exceed $500,000, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $1,500,000, approved on consent in a 10-0 vote.

Additional Backup Information:
This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 8 to the agreement with the University of Texas at Austin to provide wellness programing that aims to reduce health disparities among African American communities through a multilevel, church-based mental health and wellness program. The goal of this initiative is to create an effective and sustainable health and wellness program within African American churches and to increase awareness and reduce the stigma of mental health.
The agreement was renewed from 2019-2025, including Amendments Nos. 1 through 7. Amendments No. 2 and No. 7 were no-cost amendments to change certain contract exhibits.
