Prior Council Action:
March 25, 2021 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 3 to the agreement with American Gateways for immigration legal services and deportation defense to add funding in an amount not to exceed $210,000 to the term of April 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022 and the one remaining 12-month extension option, and add one 12-month extension option in an amount not to exceed $420,000, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $1,815,000, on an 11-0 vote.
February 21, 2019 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with American Gateways for immigration legal services and deportation defense to increase funding in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for each remaining 12-month extension option, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $975,000, on an 11-0 vote.

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 7 to the agreement with American Gateways to stabilize the immigration status of detained and non-detained immigrants residing in Austin/Travis County.
Amendment No. 6 added $21,505 to the agreement in one-time funds.
Amendment No. 5 exercised the fifth extension option for the period of April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $420,000.
Amendment No. 4 exercised the fourth extension option for the period of April 1, 2022 through March 31, 2023, in an amount not to exceed $420,000.
Amendment No. 3 added one additional extension option and $210,000 in ongoing funding.
Amendment No. 2 exercised the second 12-month extension option through March 31, 2021.
Amendment No. 1 added $150,000 to the first 12-month term and each of the remaining 12-month extension options.
On March 22, 2018, Council approved the agreement with American Gateways to provide immigration legal services and deportation defense, for a 12-month term beginning April 1, 2018 with four 12-month extension options. Funding for this agreement included $60,000 in annual funding as well as $75,000 in one-time funding for the first year.
