Additional Backup Information:

The amendment will provide continued and expanded use of a threat intelligence platform. This tool enhances the City’s security operations by automating threat management, providing comprehensive threat visibility, accelerating incident response, supporting proactive threat hunting, and fostering collaboration and information sharing. It also optimizes resources, provides potential long-term cost savings, and integrates with the threat intelligence network used by national security agencies.

Additional functionalities not licensed initially by the City will aid with processing incoming cyber threat intelligence and assessing impacts on City operations.

The Texas Department of Information Resources cooperative is a cooperative purchasing association recognized under Texas procurement statutes. Cooperative associations, themselves or using a lead government, competitively solicit and award contracts that are eligible for use by other qualified state and local governments. Due to their substantial volumes, larger than any one government could achieve independently, cooperative contracts routinely include superior terms, conditions, and pricing. Use of cooperative contracts also results in lower administrative costs and time savings.
