Additional Backup Information:

The contract will provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts and repair services for the City-owned Labrie refuse truck bodies on an as-needed basis. The City’s fleet includes eight Labrie refuse trucks operated by Austin Resource Recovery. OEM parts will be used by Fleet technicians for preventive maintenance and repairs at Fleet Service Centers, and the contracted services will supplement in-house repairs.

This contract will replace the current contract, which expires May 30, 2026.  The requested authorization amounts were determined using departmental estimates based on historical spending and will allow for a small annual growth. The recommended contractor is the current provider for these parts and services. The recommended contractor is the sole distributor authorized by the manufacturer to provide parts, repair services, and preventive maintenance for Labrie refuse trucks in the central Texas region.

A delay in contract approval could impact repair services resulting in extended vehicle downtime delaying solid waste collection services for residents.
