Fiscal Note

Funding in the amount of $465,921 is available from the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget. Funding for the remaining term is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.

 

Prior Council Action:

September 2, 2021 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 8 to an agreement with Worksource Greater Austin Area Workforce Board d/b/a Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board to provide early childhood services, adding two 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $931,842 for a total revised agreement amount not to exceed $6,500,166, on an 11-0 vote.

 

February 15, 2018 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 4 to the interlocal agreement with Worksource Greater Austin Area Workforce Board d/b/a Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board to increase funding for the provision of early childhood services, on a 9-0 vote with Council Member Troxclair abstaining and Council Member Casar off the dais.

 

April 6, 2017 - Council authorized negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 2 to the Quality Child Care Collaborative (or QC3) agreement with Worksource Greater Austin Area Workforce Board d/b/a Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board, on an 11-0 vote.

Additional Backup Information:

This action would authorize the continuation of an already existing social services agreement with Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board. The program offers direct childcare services and serves as a resource to improve the quality of childcare provision throughout Austin/Travis County. All amendments are listed below:

 

Amendment No. 9 exercised the sixth extension option in the amount of $931,842 for a 12-month term beginning October 1, 2022. 

 

Amendment No. 8 added two 12-month extension options, each in an amount not to exceed $931,842, for a total revised agreement amount not to exceed $6,500,166.  

 

Amendment No. 7 exercised the fourth extension option in the amount of $931,842 for a 12-month term beginning October 1, 2020.

 

Amendment No. 6 exercised the third extension option in the amount of $931,842 for a 12-month term beginning on October 1, 2019.

Amendment No. 5 exercised the second extension option in the amount of $931,842 for a 12-month term beginning on October 1, 2018.  

 

Amendment No. 4 added $22,728 to the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 contract, and increased funding for the remaining extension options. 

Amendment No. 3 exercised the first extension option in the amount of $909,114 for a 12-month term beginning Oct 1, 2017.

 

Amendment No. No. 2 made changes to program exhibits and added funds.

Amendment No. 1 added $183,415 to the 12-month base agreement and $8,415 to each subsequent renewal option.  

The City entered into the agreement with Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board in 2016 for an initial contract amount of $365,868 for a 12-month term beginning October 1, 2016.
