Funding in the amount of $1,662,032 is available in the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Austin Public Health Department Operating Budget. Funding for extension options is contingent upon available funding in future budgets.
Prior Council Action:
April 18, 2024 - Council approved Amendment No. 3 to the interlocal agreement with Austin Independent School to add $512,032 for the term beginning October 1, 2023, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed $6,952,493 on an 11-0 vote.
March 23, 2023 - Council approved Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with the Austin Independent School District in an amount not to exceed $662,032 to the current term of October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023, and an amount not to exceed $150,000 for each of the four 12-month renewal options, for a revised total agreement amount not to exceed S6,440,461 on an 11-0 vote.
April 7, 2022 - Council authorized the negotiation and execution of agreements with 17 social service agencies in an amount not to exceed $6,727,158 for a 15-month term beginning July 1, 2022, with four 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $5,577,331, for a total agreement amount not to exceed S29,036,482 on a 9-1 vote with Mayor Adler voting no and Council Member Harper-Madison absent.

This action will authorize negotiation and execution of Amendment No. 4 to the agreement with the Austin Independent School District d/b/a Austin ISD for the Prime-Time Afterschool program, which provides afterschool support and programming for low-income youth. Prime-Time provides opportunities that extend the school day, promote retention, and prevent juvenile delinquency. Prime-Time maintains a safe place and consistent educational presence in the community for youth attending Austin ISD schools. These funds were made available in a budget amendment approved by the City Council for Fiscal Year 2024-2025.
Amendment No. 3 added additional one-time funding of $512,032 to the agreement as approved by Council for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
Amendment No. 2 exercised the first extension option to the Agreement for the period of October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.
Amendment No. 1 added $662,032 to the agreement for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
The current social services agreement with AISD was awarded as a result of the Austin Public Health Department’s execution of agreements with 17 social service agencies listed in the Recommendation for Action for community-based social services and capacity building to area youth in an amount not to exceed $6,727,158 for a 15-month term beginning on July 1, 2022, with four 12-month extension options each in an amount not to exceed $5,577,331, for a total agreement amount not to exceed $29,036,482.
